Personal Support Programme

The Personal Support Programme (PSP) is aimed at helping you to address personal difficulties that may be standing in the way of you finding work.

People wanting to participate in the two-year PSP programme may be facing difficult circumstances including:

  • Homelessness
  • Drug/alcohol issues
  • Mental health disorders
  • Torture/trauma or other stress disorders
  • Gambling problems
  • Domestic violence
  • Financial management difficulties
  • Social isolation/alienation
  • Poor communication/language skills
  • Long-term unemployment

At PEP we help you work towards meeting your personal and work-related goals.

You will work with one of our support workers for the duration of the program. They will offer you ongoing support and help in deciding where to start and what to deal with first.

You will have access to:

  • Personal and vocational counselling
  • Wider social and community networks
  • Specialist services
  • Practical assistance, for example help with transport to interviews
  • Other PEP services and facilities

As part of the PSP programme, we:

  • Take time to understand your needs and get to know you as a person
  • Adopt a holistic approach, with a focus towards well-being and building on the strengths you already posses
  • Are flexible so we can suit your individual circumstances
  • Work with you to develop a plan of action and assist you to make positive change in your life

Our staff has a range of qualifications and experience including Psychology and Social Work, so you will be in good hands.

Centrelink identifies potential candidates for the PSP programme and will assess their eligibility for the programme. Ask for PEP as you preferred Personal Support Programme provider at Centrelink.
